# How to configure ziti groups?

Let assume we have the routers :

["xxx106"]["xxx173"]["xxx189"]["xxx209"]["xxx51"]

["yyy161"]["yyy221"]["yyy223"]["yyy236"]["yyy29"]["yyy3"]["yyy7"]["yyy76"]["yyy89"]

I would like to create two groups: **GX** and **GY.**

**GX** includes:["xxx106"]["xxx173"]["xxx189"]["xxx209"]["xxx51"]

**GY** includes:["yyy161"]["yyy221"]["yyy223"]["yyy236"]["yyy29"]["yyy3"]["yyy7"]["yyy76"]["yyy89"]

If I understand the [documentation](https://openziti.io/docs/reference/configuration/router/#link) correctly for each router I need to edit the config.yml files and set _link.listners.groups_ and _link.dialers.groups_ accordingly:

For routers in **GX** group:

```auto
link.listeners.groups:
                    - GX
link.dialers.groups:
                    - GX

```

For routers in **GY** group:

```auto
link.listeners.groups:
                    - GY
link.dialers.groups:
                    - GY

```

In general ISPs do not allow any connection between **GX** and **GY** groups.

Let also assume that the routers [xxx106] and [yyy29] are able to communicate one with another. It’s an rare exception. Thus we can create a link between **GX** and **GY** groups.

I suppose config.yml of [xxx106] and [yyy29] should be as following :

For router [xxx106]

```auto
link.listeners.groups:
                    - GX
                    - GXY
link.dialers.groups:
                    - GX
                    - GXY

```

For router [yyy29]

```auto
link.listeners.groups:
                    - GY
                    - GXY
link.dialers.groups:
                    - GY
                    - GXY

```
