I'm using Ziti Edge Desktop for Windows 2.9.5, it works well in my sandbox environment.

When I testing ZEDW in a corporate network, it failed to connect to Ziti Controller and Router, after a little bit troubleshooting, this is because ZEDW service read the HTTP\_PROXY from environment, and make the connection via proxy, but proxy reject the connection.

read the source of **ziti-edge-tunnel.c,** it read the env variable, i can't find a way to override this.

Question:

Is there a way to disable the PROXY without removing system env variable HTTP\_PROXY, because in a corporate environment, many other applications relys on this HTTP\_PROXY variable.
I can't remove the system environment variable, and i want ZEDW do the directly connection to controller and router without proxy, please advise.

Can anyone provide some suggestions/hints?

Yep. Right now it's only enabled by command line flag or env var. I'll file an issue to expose it to the config file so that it's not exclusively by env var or by command line option. There's no horizon on when that'll be enabled (or if we ever do it) so in the meantime you will need to unset that env var if you don't want it eanbled.

I'm not sure what the order of precedence should be but if the zet is able to configure \`HTTP\_PROXY\` via config file, perhaps the config could have an \`IGNORE\_HTTP\_PROXY\` sort of setting?
