Adblocking for everything through openziti?

I've been playing with this idea for a while now and I have a strong feeling that it might be possible to achieve ad-blocking for all my devices using pihole (for example) via OpenZiti.

Is it really possible to direct all DNS queries to the pihole for all current and future clients (windows, Android, Linux)?

Appreciate your help in guiding my thoughts on this!

You can try it (I did not try it).

  1. Configure the pihole as second DNS resolver
  2. Intercept the IP address and port with OpenZiti
  3. Bind the pihole with OpenZiti
  4. Create and configure a OpenZiti service for all identities and routers.

I've also never tried it, but there are many customers that tunnel DNS for their domain in this way. So while I don't have actual experience doing it myself, I know it's been done. :slight_smile:
