Hi all! Very new to OpenZiti and this whole process so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
I have setup a Minecraft server on a local machine and will be sharing with family. But wanted to set it up with Zrok. I followed the guide video hosted and got everything working! I was able to use the Zrok portal and everything. However, now when I try and access the portal I get a 502 error Bad Gateway nginx 1.24.
I’ve tried on multiple devices and received the same error. Clear cache in browser reinstalled nginx as well.
Don’t want to get to far in the weeds with self troubleshooting! But could use some suggestions on potential issues!
Thanks
Hi @Jshwalters5, welcome to the community and zrok (and OpenZiti/browzer)!
could you share what sorts of zrok commands you ran and when and how you get the 502? I assume you're running the zrok access on a vps or are you planning on having people run their own zrok instance and using private sharing?
Happy to try to help you out further, I'm just not entirely sure when and how you're getting the 502.
You had everything working, then somehow it stopped, right? I wonder if you're hitting some sort of rate limite (my visibility into the way the limiting works isn't very much)
Thank you for the quick response! Let me get back to you. I ended up re-doing the steps to setup the front end and it started working again. So the settings seem 'fine'. let me see if the behavior happens again
Yup happened again after a fresh install i closed the page and reloaded it and received a bad gateway error. So maybe its a DNS issue through Cloudflare
There's nothing within zrok that leverages nginx, so this is more likely an issue with the server being used to host your application. Keep us posted and let us know how we can help though.
I ended up just recreating the server that hosted zrok/openziti. I followed the guide on your youtube channel @TheLumberjack and it worked exactly as expected! Thanks all
