Quick note.. I am getting closer to a point where I can implement Zrok.. and was thinking.. can it also do MFA? if so, would this also be for a self host solution?

TOTP - no. I'm not sure it'd make sense for zrok at this time but you CAN assign some basic auth to the share. That's a form of auth so maybe that counts?

We are also working on adding support for external IdPs (e.g., Google, GitHub, etc) to zrok. MFA can be configured in the IdP. This will be available in NetFoundry-hosted zrok and you'll be able to configure this for self-hosted.
