Why does the router start a local DNS server when the tunnel listener is set to host mode?

I am trying to understand the behavior of tunnel binding of the listener on the router.
Reading the documentation one gets the impression that in "host" mode the router just behaves as a reverse proxy and does not start a DNS server.

However, in reality a DNS server is started in "host" mode as well. It is not clear how the local DNS server is used in this case (one imagines that the router is using the available DNS resolution of the host to resolve the terminating endpoints).

Moreover, there do not seem to be any command line options to "ziti router run" to prevent starting a DNS server.

Could you please throw some light on this?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Pretty sure it'll be fixed soon. We noticed it recently and a fix will likely be out in a release soon (dunno when or which release)

Thanks a lot @TheLumberjack .
