Accessing file share

With ziti, can I control access to file share?

eg.
User A => /share/path_a
User B => /share/path_b

No. That’s the application’s job. If those shares were on different computers, the answer would be ‘yes’. but since you show the same “share”, it’s going to the same machine, ziti can’t prevent that particular situation

I’m basically repeating what @TheLumberjack is saying, but want to make sure it’s clear that Ziti could prevent (or allow) either user to access the share, but access to specific files/directories happens after connectivity is established, outside of Ziti.

so “yes, with Ziti you can control access to the file share”, but “no, Ziti does not control access to specific files/directories on the file share.”

Hi,

I tried forward traffic to access the file share server. But I think it will not work as the windows client uses \ztn.example (run box) where you can't use port. Is there anything I can do or change on client? Also via installing ziti desktop edge on the server 2019. Can you please tell the steps if any?

Or should create a new post?

Thank you.
